About me

My experience and skills

I obtained a BSc in Physiotherapy from University of the West of England in 1998. I have been practising professionally since then, choosing to specialise in paediatrics in 2000. I have worked in Jack Tizard School, a special school for children with profound learning difficulties, in community paediatrics under Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, the Bobath Centre (London), and at a charity for disabled children and young adults in Malaysia. I also volunteered as a trained British Paralympic Disability Swimming Classifier for many years until I had my daughter in 2012.

I currently work 2 days a week at Abingdon House School, a specialist school for students with Autism, Social Communication Disorders, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other associated difficulties and devote the rest of my time to providing independent paediatric physiotherapy through Specialist Children’s Physiotherapy.

I have experience working with babies, children and young adults with conditions ranging from mild physical difficulties to complex and multiple disabilities, in a variety of settings (home, clinics, hospitals, mainstream and special schools). As such, I have a wealth of experience gained from working closely with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, music therapists, paediatricians, orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, special educational needs teachers, visual impairment teachers, psychologists and even swimming coaches. As a result, I am able to treat your child in a holistic way so as to improve their overall quality of life, rather than just dealing with the physical issues.

I have an enhanced DBS disclosure, and am a member of a number of professional organisations.
